Since you say that this sample file was made by using MKVmerge to split off a part of the original file, without any re-encoding (since MKVmerge doesn't do that), I've assumed that the original file has some header error which MKVmerge 'auto-corrected' in creating the split-off file.
The rest of this post is based on the assumption, that you really have RC4, but have not fully tested the sample file to "Direct Play" with your RasPlex (just to explore both possibilities). The fact remains that the sample you uploaded earlier does work well with PMS+RasPlex here, being automatically recognized as needing transcoding, and with that transcoded playback working fine. If so, this could indicate that your RasPlex is messed up, not being a proper RC4 version.īecause if we were using the same version we should have the same results. So your RasPlex still tries to "Direct Play" that sample file.? For some reason your PMS didn't detect this movie with a valid bitdepth (he mention 0 instead of 10). Perhaps it will be supported in some future version, based on newer XBMC players.įor your own playback of this type of video with current RasPlex I suggest that you improve the CODEC support on your PMS system, so it can handle the transcoding without errors. The first thing I noticed was that at launch of the file I got a popup message stating that the BitDepth was too high, at 10 bits (max 8 supported), which caused the video to be transcoded.
